How to collect contacts


Collecting new potentional customers is hard work and tight thinking. People know when their data has been misused and are very sensitive at this matter.  DO NOT BUY ANY CONTACT LISTS – it means you are qualified immediately as a spammer and a bad marketeer. Working through your own customers is always better and gives you better understanding of how to write them good letters.

 
  • Meetings – In most cases people exchange businesscards when meeting for the first time, ask if you could send her/him a newsletter later.
  • Fairs are superior means to get new contacts. Consumers that visit fairs are the most confident buyers. They have paid for visting the fair, so they are interested in you.
  • Seminars/Trainings are great means to approach on a professional level and to offer added value. New product training allows you to send them newsletters and guide them to make a purchase.
  • Events – Parties, concerts, gallery openings or whatever events where people are gathering give us a possibility to add new people into our segmentated list.
  • Sales calls – A sales person can easily ask a customer to enclose her/his name into the newsletter list while communicating in order to enlower his work load later dealing with all of her/his customers one by one. Also personal communication allows us to make better segmentation immediately.
  • Postcards – Has the best affect on those customers who shared  only their post address. Send a card with a web address where they can register by themselves and get some extra bonus.
  • Catalogues – Periodically given catalogues let your customers know about new products and services. Also it is an excuse why you approach your customer – you thought your new product might save her/his expenses or gives a new business oportunity.
